Who Allah Permitted to Break Fast
Allah permitted categories of people to break fast in Ramadan in alleviation, mercy, and ease for them. They are:
Then it is permissible for them to break fast. They make up what they broke in fasting after Ramadan if they are from those who are hoped to recover.
For elderliness or disease in which recovery is not hoped for, then breaking fast is permissible for them and they feed in place of each day a miskeen (needy person) giving him/her what amounts to a kilo(gram) and a half of the staple of the land.
So fasting is prohibited for them and it is not valid from them. Upon them is making up (the fast) after Ramadan.

(Allah) Exalted said: ﴾And whoever is sick or on a journey, then(he must fast) a period of other days. Allah wants ease for you and does not want hardship for you﴿ [Al-Baqarah: 185].
What Is the Ruling of Who Broke Fast in Ramadan Without Excuse?
Everyone who broke their fast in Ramadan without excuse upon them is repentance to Allah for committing a great sin and disobeying the command of the Creator, Immaculate is He and Exalted. They are required to make up only that day, except who broke fast by intercourse, for upon them is to repent, make up that day, and upon them, along with that, is an expiation for that act of disobedience by releasing a neck, meaning by buying a Muslim slave and freeing them. Islam affirms the importance of freeing humans from bondage and slavery on every occasion. If not found, as is the case today, then they fast two consecutive months. So if they are unable, then they feed sixty miskeen (needy) people.
